Thank you for your interest in adopting from Nyla’s Retreat & Dog Rescue Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Adoption Terms and Conditions outline the responsibilities and expectations for individuals (“Adopter” or “you”) who wish to adopt an animal through our organization.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
- You must provide a valid photo ID and proof of residence.
- You must demonstrate the ability to provide a safe, stable, and loving home for the animal.
2. Application Process
- All prospective adopters must complete an adoption application.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.
- We may conduct reference checks, home visits, or interviews at our discretion.
3. Adoption Fees
- Adoption fees vary depending on the animal and are non-refundable.
- Fees cover veterinary care, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and general care.
4. Animal Health and Behavior
- We disclose all known medical and behavioral conditions.
- Animals are provided “as is.” While we strive to ensure all animals are healthy, we cannot guarantee future health or behavior.
5. Adopter Responsibilities
By adopting from us, you agree to:
- Provide proper food, shelter, veterinary care, and companionship.
- Comply with local pet ownership laws and licensing requirements.
- Never sell, abandon, or surrender the adopted animal to a shelter. If rehoming becomes necessary, you must contact us first.
6. Follow-Up and Support
- We may follow up after adoption to ensure the well-being of the animal.
- We provide ongoing support and advice to help facilitate a successful adoption.
7. Return Policy
- If the adoption does not work out, you must notify us and arrange for the animal’s return.
- Adoption fees are not refundable.
8. Agreement
By proceeding with an adoption, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Adoption Terms and Conditions.
